Mr. Bunion: Life is not as bad as we imagine it to be. A great amount of pleasure may be extracted from some of our worst miseries if we but reason with ourselves, force our selves to think that pain is not present, that we don't suffer. Exert a will power sufficient to make despair appear like contentment -- [How To Live Happy]

[MONOTONY] Mr. Bunion: Yet, if we turn despair into Joy and have nothing but Joy continually, it would get monotonous and despair must follow after all.
Mr. Bunion: If I could force myself to believe this rose smelled like limburger cheese I might live happy, but I can't.
